Couldn't resist sharing what we overheard at a VMA after-party in New York City attended by Kanye West: "Yo Facebook Chat, I'm really happy for you. I'm a let you finish, but Windows Live Messenger is one of the best instant messaging clients of all time. One of the best instant messaging clients OF ALL TIME!" UPDATE: He's done it again!

 Phase II: Mandatory upgrade to 14.0.8089

According to the plan, all customers using Messenger 8.1 or 8.5 will be required to upgrade to 14.0.8089 as of today. At the end of next month, customers using earlier 14.0 builds will be forced to do the same. The upgrade is mandatory because of a security flaw discovered last month. Apparently, this phase was preceded by a lot of failed instant message deliveries, but the issues seem to be resolved now. >> Grab the latest version of Windows Live Messenger yourself here.
