Create yourself a hacker MSN nickname
dwergs says ( 21 Mar 2003 ):
|
Tim Jansen and dwergs present the Hacker MSN Nickname Construction Kit. For those wondering, the image used on the left of the nickname generator is that from a memorable "hacking" scene in the movie Swordfish. |
Bad Motherfucker Wallet
dwergs says ( 20 Mar 2003 ):
|
Already about 50.000 Messers downloaded the Pulp Fiction skin (for MSN Messenger 4.x only). Simply because this bad ass Tarantino flick rocks!
Mess.be added a link to a worldwide online shop selling the bad mother fucker wallet Jules is handing over in the restaurant. I own it and it owns me.
We're bringing this to your attention because we've got a special deal lined up for the Messers: 10% will be deducted off any order you place during March at this link (be it the wallet or any other stuff). All you need to do is enter voucher code: adeal. I hope some of you will take advantage of this great offer! |
LIVE OUTSIDE THE BOX DAY, 26th of MARCH: FIND OUT if you can SIGN OUT!
dwergs says ( 19 Mar 2003 ):
|
In last week's poll 49% of you confessed they can NOT live without MSN Messenger for a day. An additional 20% doubts they can. OH MY GOD! These results are incredible!
Of course MSN Messenger is fun, handy, cool and all what you want! But come on: total MSN addiction is completely insane... (then again, look who's talking :| I practically *LIVE* on Messenger -- what a shocker huh).
That's why MESS.BE IS CHALLENGING YOU!!
Next Wednesday, 26th of March, we organise the first LIVE OUTSIDE THE (CHAT)BOX DAY. Our goal is to keep as much people as possible (including us) from signing into MSN or Windows Messenger during 24 hours.
TRY TO RESIST THE TEMPTATION!
Whatever you do, DON'T SIGN IN FOR ONE DAY. If you really need to talk to someone urgently: call him or her. Better still, pay a visit. The world's doing so wrong at the moment, try to live outside & together for a day.
You will be able to let Mess.be know if you succeeded (or not) so we can track all participants. Watch this space the 26th of March for the official kick-off!
Last but not least, check out the promotional flyer for the first Live Outside The Box day and send it to your friends --if they're offline a whole, it'll be easier for you too! ;) |
Download.com finally catches up on MSN Messenger 5.0.0543 for XP
dwergs says ( 19 Mar 2003 ):
|
Yesterday, the 18th of March, a "new" download was added to the gorilla filebase Download.com: MSN Messenger for Windows XP 5.0.0543. A few people have notified me of this fresh "release", but there's really nothing special about it: this is the same build released on December 18th last year (exactly 3 months ago). I have no idea why they added a new file entry for this one, but it's probably a human error. |

mega Nega Patch does it all! Multi MSN, appear offline, remove banner and more...
dwergs says ( 19 Mar 2003 ):
|
The Nega patch for MSN 5.0.0543 by flur is a fantastic all-in-one MSN Messenger tweaker:
- Appear Offline automatically when logging in, so you can block people or change your nickname in advance; - Disable the "[User] is typing" message so your contacts won't be notified when you're typing; - Polygamy patch, allowing you to run multiple instances of MSN Messenger simultaneously; - Remove the banner ad; - Warp the tray icon back to the MSN Messenger 4 style.
I don't know about you Messers, but I love it to pieces! Download the Nega patch for MSN Messenger 5.0.0543! And if you want to know more about its creator flur, check out the Nega homepage. |
Wanted: Dedicated Exit Blogger
dwergs says ( 19 Mar 2003 ):
How old is Mess.be's webslave, dwergs?
dwergs says ( 19 Mar 2003 ):
|
"What age you Messers take me for?", that's the question. Consider it an experiment to see if website visitors can construct a correct image of their webmaster. Think, then vote. I'm very curious about the results! |
MSN Logger spies on your MSN Messenger when you are (Away)
dwergs says ( 18 Mar 2003 ):
|
MSN Logger by Wouter Veneklaas only does one thing: LOG stuff. But it does thoroughly: nickname changes, status changes, instant messages, IM window openings/closings, users logging in/out, users online, received e-mails and users blocking you. Only available for MSN Messenger 4.x! Download MSN Logger.
By the way, dear developers out there, keep (re)submitting your add-ons for MSN Messenger (preferably version 5.0) to:
s°u°b°m°i°t°@°m°e°s°s°.°b°e
Remove all the °'s and remember: MSN add-ons, bots or online site tools for mess.be ONLY. If you need some inspiration, check out the wishlist compiled by our visitors. |
Forwarding an e-mail won't bring you a new MSN Messenger version
dwergs says ( 18 Mar 2003 ):
|
Among others, chaja reported another e-mail chain letter asking you to forward it to 10 friends in order to receive an exclusive new version of MSN Messenger. This e-mail is a 100% fake. There's NO new version at this moment. The latest official version of MSN Messenger will always be reported here. |
Customize the Messenger Plus! 2 Easter Eggs messages
dwergs says ( 18 Mar 2003 ):
|
I hope noroom's instructions on how to customize the Messenger Plus! 2 easter egs messages make it more clear how to change "I'm so stupid!" to "You're so stupid!" for example. More information on the Plus Easter Eggs page.
Oh yeah, and Érico sent us a Brazilian flag code.

|
Microsoft on Monday said it will partner with Comverse Technology to offer voice mail message notification technology through its .Net Alerts service, another deal to bolster the software giant's mobile communications push.
Comverse's customers will be able to send voice mail notifications to people's instant messaging clients, mobile devices and e-mail in-boxes and then allow them to play back their messages.
