Re-released: Emoticon Extender Pack 2
 dwergs says ( 06 May 2004 ):
|
In July 2003 Jplyn created and refurbished seven series of emoticons you can extend forever and ever, including a chain, a train, a snake, a hot dog, a pencil, another type of 'pencil' (or hot dog, or snake, as you like) and a centipede (see screenshot below). We dubbed it Emoticon Extender Pack 2 (because there was already a first one) and since Jplyn submitted these to Mess.be, 163.590 messers have downloaded it.
In November one of our (now ex)hosts decided to delete all our downloads from their server without notifying us appropriately, so since then Emoticon Extender Pack 2 became unavailable for download.
But now it's time for a proper re-release of Jplyn's Emoticon Extender 2, distributed in our excellent Freemoticons auto-emoticon-installer. Close all your conversation windows and run the installer for all free extendable emoticons!

Watermarks are for sissies
 timothy says ( 03 May 2004 ):
|
Are you getting annoyed by pesky watermarks on your avatars? Here is a step by step way on how to get rid of them if you are using a Australian service we’ve mentioned in two other news posts.
0. Clear your internet explorer cache. (You don’t need to do this one, but it can be useful) 1.Create your aussie avatar 2.Go to the delivery Page 3.Hit file, and press work offline 4.Go to your internet explorer settings ( Tools -> Internet Options ) 5.Hit the settings button for your temporary internet files, and choose to view files 6.Delete the file wm.png (step 0 makes it easier to find) 7.Go back to your internet explorer and hit F5 8.Choose to stay offline 9.Now hit the print screen button to copy the page to your clipboard, and edit it in a high end graphical editing program. (like paint) 10.Don’t forget to set internet explorer to work online again !
Note: Some people might think this is illegal, but we find it’s a legal thing to clear annoying files from your history. |
Super Hero Meegos
 dwergs says ( 03 May 2004 ):
|
On Saturday we told you about Meegos, an MSN avatar creator service. If you gave it a test drive already, you will have noticed in the "Meego mall" that Super Hero Meegos were "coming soon". After some URL tweaking Messer Boge found out that you don't have to wait until these new outfits officially become available. They're right here! (I don't know yet if you can order your Super Hero Meego for real).

Another MSN 6.2 Feature!
 Zero1 says ( 02 May 2004 ):
|
Some of you may have noticed earlier today a new option in the preferences of MSN Messenger 6.2. We have reported about the MSN Direct Watches before, and it seems Microsoft is beginning to incorporate these devices into MSN Messenger 6.2. In the options page, under the "Phone" tab this is shown:

The button takes you to this page. The feature does not seem to be enabled for most accounts. It doesn’t seem to be location specific, as MSN Direct is only for the US at the moment.

New Fun & Games menu
 timothy says ( 02 May 2004 ):
|
Within a couple of days you will find a new Fun & Games menu in your MSN Messenger (Previously called Launch Site Menu). Microsoft has spiced it up with a few icons, and have added a new feature called MSN Calendar Sharing. Just like the name suggest, its supposed to share your MSN Calendar with friends.
Take an early glance at it here. |
