Since MSN Messenger 6 you can keep a record of all your chats. These logs contain text only, which means only typed conversations are archived.

If you use your microphone for voice chats and/or your webcam for video messaging, this will not be saved into the Message History. We are currently not aware of any addons that do record audio and/or video sessions.
