Why does installing MSN Messenger sometimes requires to restart my computer and sometimes not?
If you were installing overtop of a previous installation, and Messenger could not be exited, your system needs to restart in order to overwrite the files in use. The main cause for Messenger not being able to exit is that programs like Outlook Express, Internet Explorer, 3Degrees and other 3rd party add ons might be using the Messenger intergration.
