I was contacted by ActiveBuddy today about the re-launch of SmarterChild on AOL’s Instant Messenger (which -for the record- I almost never use). But I paid there site a visit and noticed a new MSN Buddy called dnLFlipIt. Apparently, it’s owned by Dr. Pepper/7-Up Inc. and it comes with the following description:

“If you want to get the latest info on dnL events, promotions, exclusive offers and the latest hits from some hot artists, strike up a chat with us. We’ll get you up to speed and, if necessary, entertain you long enough to make sure your free time is amply amusing.”

Messenger Pop by Nicolas Koulouris is a Windows Messenger-only Add-In that allows POP3 e-mail integration in Windows Messenger. It notifies you of new e-mails and their origin sent to your non-Hotmail account (eg. the one from your ISP). This is also available in Messenger Plus! 2, but some people might want to keep it simple :) Remember, this Messenger Add-In works only with Windows Messenger (4.7.0.104 or greater) on XP. Microsoft will offer its messaging service through KT Freetel Corp., South Korea’s second-largest mobile-phone operator. I have a sad announcement to make: the MSN Messenger Icon has recently past away. May it rest in peace… It’s been killed on a Chinese desktop in a terrible fight with other program icons.
