MSN Messenger Connect (and not Business Messenger), will be launched early 2003 as Microsoft’s enterprise targetted instant messaging product. Features include company-controlled namespaces, so usernames can be administered from within the business. User authentification plus other kinds of security will be more enhanced than what we’re used to in our consumer version of MSN Messenger.

Connect is also likely to include a way for MSN users inside a company to link their business usernames to their public MSN accounts. Naturally, extensive management, logging and archiving of corporate instant messaging sessions is available too. Microsoft is pricing MSN Messenger Connect at about $24 annually per seat, with volume discounts. [Source: ZDNet.co.uk]
