Although still in beta, Koen's custom MSN 6 game Yahtzee! is stable enough to be enjoyed by everyone. Report any bugs, requests or suggestions for new games to appdirectory at brinkster.net.  Adder for MSN Messenger 6

If you want to customize your MSN Messenger 6 with your own display pictures, custom emoticons and backgrounds, you were limited to adding them one by one. Huuf created an experimental Adder that allows you to add up to 500 images at once, ideal for adding for example emoticon fonts. Remember to turn off Messenger Plus! completely when importing images, and to set your status to Appear Offline. Download Huuf's Adder here. The display picture being one of the most beloved features of MSN Messenger, we're wondering if people really use it that much. Please tell us how regularly you change your MSN Display Picture by voting here. The results from our previous poll show people changed to the new MSN Messenger a lot faster compared to when MSN Messenger 5.0 was released: 88% of the Messers are using the public preview or beta of MSN Messenger 6.0 (the final version hadn't been released at the time of the poll). About 7% can't say goodbye to MSN 5.0. A scary conclusion from our poll is only 3% of all Messers are using some version of Windows Messenger. Looks like its days as consumer product are over.

Ok, two things in this post. First of all, Jared's Web-Based MSN Messenger has got its own domain now, so edit your Favorites to http://www.wbmsn.com. Second thing, as some of you will notice when they click the link above, we're introducing a new form of advertising on Mess.be, called Interstitials, to cover our very VERY expensive (approaching $900 per month) server costs. We're still looking for a way to implement them, so look at this one as a test... :)

 NCsoft & MSN Korea team up for promoting games

NCsoft, Korea's largest online game service provider and known for its multi-user medieval fantasy game Lineage, has forged a strategic tie-up with MSN Korea to jointly promote "board games" through the Korean version of MSN Messenger 6.0. Given that the number of MSN Messenger users in Korea is about 8 million, the partnership between NCsoft and MSN is likely to spar a new round of competition in the Web board game market. All you need is a webcam or digital camera and a rather elastic face (maybe even some make-up) to start making "real emoticons", i.e. pictures where you imitate an MSN Messenger smiley. Realemoticons.com is a very recently created MSN Group collecting such images sent in by its members. Nice and interesting project, Sandra & Jeremy! I'll pop in once in a while to check the pics out :)
