No, I'm not saying I'm a star. But you can IM (or instant message) a star thanks to another marketing step in Microsoft's promotional circus for MSN Messenger 6.0. Yes, you can have either Mary J. Blige, Bon Jovi, Bow Wow, Ludacris, Mya, Seal or Smashmouth on your MSN Contact List for 10 minutes (basically, that's saying "Hello", "How are you", "Goodbye" but oh well, you did talk to your idol right?). Beginning today (ending August 31st), music fans in the United States can enter to win the "IM A Star" promotion at imastar.msn.com. Seven winners -chosen between Sept. 1 and Sept. 15- will be asked to add "imastar_promo@msn.com" to their list in order to be able to personally chat with the preferred musical act. We now know that we have very young fans out there (have a look at Ace's fanpic -see the post below), but I'm sure a lot of l33t Messers too are going to be tempted to cast the Harry Potter MSN Names spell. Harry or Mary, whatever, it's your choice: - The male Harry Potter names spell (quiz: do you recognize the person dressed up as Harry?) - The female Harry Potter names spell (the image here comes from a HP lookalike contest organised by MSN... spot the butterfy wizards :s) At the bottom of the pages you'll find links to "the spell" to send to your MSN contacts or to put on your own webpages.

Make a webcamshot of you expressing your love towards Mess.be (or dwergs) by using one of our characteristics (logo, url or slogan), send it to submit**mess.be (replace ** with @) and put "fanpic" in the subject. **UPDATE: Guess who's a BIG fan of Mess.be? It's our very own Timothy ;) Always wondered what he looked like? Here's the fanpic he sent in. Follow his example, but use a better marker and you don't have to own a Pulp Fiction wallet ;)

Leo's kinky Anything goes font has been added to our MSN 6 Emoticon Fonts collection and Dreamingweb's Yerral Emoticon Expressions have been added to our MSN 6 Emoticon Packs collection. I'd also like to invite you to take a look at Oliver's emo:factory, a flash-based emoticon generator. Screenshot & cut out the result and you have your own 'customized' custom emoticon. All this yummy stuff comes from ItsElephants.

It pops-up a small window/toast if your contact changes: - their name - status - becomes idle - appears to be offline. You can select sounds, (a different sound for each event is possible), choose how long pop-up stays on your screen, ignore pop-up for some contacts or events, and even have custom background for pop-ups! Thanks to Dave Whitfield for notifying flur has updated his Nega patch to be compatible with MSN Messenger 6.0.0602. This patch disables the 'User is Typing' message, removes the ad banner, makes you appear Offline automatically on signing in, removes the butterfly from the icon and enables MSN polygamy.
